Can Levi Johnston, father of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s grandson, get his wish to be a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars”?
The chatter that passes for news, the gossip that is peddled by the windbags on the airwaves, the noise that drowns out rational discourse, and the timidity and cowardice of what is left of the newspaper industry reflect our flight into collective insanity. We stand on the cusp of one of the most seismic and disturbing dislocations in human history, one that is radically reconfiguring our economy as it is the environment, and our obsessions revolve around the trivial and the absurd.

Don't forget the "important" sports events EVERY evening, when that's the only time one has to think about what really matters...the "Rivalries" that occupy the brains of our young, College sports, professional sports, football, basketball, Baseball, Hockey...some season every season... Also remember to jack up the price of everything so that everyone constantly struggles just to keep their heads above the water gasping for air, not only having absolutely no spirit to fight back, but even an opportunity to stop and think of what's going on and what matters. Once you have the "perfect work-force" that quietly works all day, then spends the money to buy food in the evening because they don't have time to cook for their children. And then weekends get spent on more buying and watching sports. The Kids who have always been eating "ready-made" food have lost all perception of what home cooked food is? So they grow up knowing only how to spend money on food. We are creating the "Stepford Wives" version of our workforce...Hooray!!! more batteries to charge the vacuums of the few that suck up all the wealth!
